In Studio: Holding the ‘ukulele, basic picking, and basic strumming
In Studio: Rhythmic Notation & Beats
In Studio: Introduce the Music Staff and where our open strings are placed on the Staff
In Studio: Basic Picking (single note) & Strumming (chord)
At the end of this lesson, students should
Know about the different parts of their ‘ukulele
Understand how their instrument is tuned
Be able to hold, pick, and strum their instrument
Understand what is a musical Staff, and be aware that the Staff has lots of information, including the Treble Clef symbol, Time Signature, measure lines, and notes.
Understand what single notes are versus chords
Be more aware of rhythmic notation and the different types of notes (quarter, half, etc).
Be able to clap/tap and pick quarter notes in a semblance of time
